A Huge Thank You From John Paul & Team

At the start of 2021 I think hardly anyone knew what was to be expected in our day to day lives and also running a business. The nation was in lock down, we where facing a global shipping crisis, the Suez canal blockage for one and also a global container shortage which increased container shipping prices 5 fold. This then had an impact on huge challenges on shortages for many supply lines and with us still adapting to safe working / social distancing and the remote working idea it was a very tough start to 2021.

We have managed to overcome some very difficult challenges in 2021 working tirelessly into the night and most weeks 7 day weeks to overcome these hurdles. This year has become our most successful year on record to date. The internet has become busy for online shopping over the last 12-18 months which has resulted in us creating 4 new jobs in 2021 which is fantastic to be able to do. Sethcodoorstore team now consists of myself John Paul, Natasha, Robin, Sandra, Joe, Kieran and Chloe. 

We could not have achieved this without all our dedicated and very hardworking committed team who have all gone above and beyond during these very difficult times to ensure customer orders where processed, updated and delivered, which is still ongoing with uncertain times ahead.  However we could have not done this with of course the support and custom from you our superb customers this year. A lot of customers made the plunge to order online for the very first time and we are very grateful you to have chosen Sethcodoorstore to make your purchase(s) for your home improvement ideas. We have had a lot of repeat custom this year too which has been amazing to see, we thank you for your loyalty and continued support. We also thank our suppliers, LPD, XL Joinery, Julian Bowen, Mark Harris, Rattan Republic, Core Products, Indian Hub to name just a few, who have all been very supportive. 

We are constantly looking at improving our processes each day, while also looking to increase the range of products to add to the website for you. 2022 will see us launch an independent home furniture only website which is very exciting news. Everyone at Sethcodoorstore would welcome any ideas about how we can improve our service and ranges online for 2022.

At this time most of our deliveries are running to the advertised schedule with good product availability, but please be aware there can be delays in the courier and supply network with inbound arrivals into UK Ports. If for some reason there is disruption to your order, we will keep you updated via email and telephone.

We are working hard with our suppliers daily to ensure we have our products available within reasonable lead times.

To help you even more, here are some tips to enable you when sourcing your new doors, floors and furniture:

Order early – if you have the space, order much earlier than you would normally do. We also do not mind holding orders until you are ready. We can secure the stocks for you.

It has been a while seen we last updated you with latest news as we have been incredibly busy these past 6 months.

2020 and 2021 has been a very uncertain time in many industries, especially for the retail industry which has seen many high street stores with some huge names amongst them close the doors for good. The Covid-19 pandemic has seen many people change shopping habits to using online shopping, many for the very first time, which admittedly can be very daunting if you cannot see a physical item or speak to a person face to face. You need to obtain that trust factor before parting with your hard earned money. 
Sethcodoorstore have now been trading online since November 2017 and we have welcomed many new shoppers to our family run business since the lock down and also beyond lock down too. We have grown from 4-5 orders per day to well over 25'000 completed orders in 2021 which is massive for us, a great big thank you for your support, custom and patience as our industry has probably been hit the most with shipping delays which has seen forced delays to many products for orders well beyond our control. You the public and our customers have been fantastic and we cannot thank you enough. With the increase in sales, enquiries, purchases and much more we have had to increase our workforce. From what was a one man band in August 2020 we are now SEVEN! An incredible thought from one year ago. We have increased our customer services and after sales team, our purchasing team and also our e-commerce team to ensure we answer your calls, emails, live chats and have your orders processed in a professional manner so that we can report back to you with how your order is progressing. Our recent addition to our team was just last week at the end of August. We welcomed Chloe to the team who is settling in really well.

March 1st 2021

Our final piece to the jigsaw ( for now ) has seen Sandra start with us in the role we created for an additional customer service advisor within our team. Sandra arrives at Sethcodoorstore with an abundance of customer service experience. Sandra is busy learning the systems and teaming up with Robin and Natasha this week.

We are delighted to announce that Kieran who started with us as an apprentice in 2020 has now become a full time member of staff at Sethcodoorstore. Kieran is our new E-commerce Assistant. Aged just 17 Kieran has shown us some excellent skills and has learnt so much since he started. He will be spending his time adding new products, optimising the products already on the website, updating live stock information and assisting with order processing too. We all wish Kieran every success with us. He is surrounded by a great team who are helping him each day to develop his skills within the business.

Our priority at this time remains the Health, Safety and well-being of our colleagues, and customers. Following clarity from the Government on the role of the supply chain to the construction and home improvement sector, we have taken the decision to remain open and maintain customer service operations from the office so we can take your queries, orders and answer your emails and live chat. Our E-commerce assistant Joe and Web Content Producer Kieran are working from home adding the new products and updating stock availabilities on the website daily, Myself John Paul, Robin and Natasha are working from the office safely and social distanced to assist with calls, processing orders and answering emails daily. Our office remains open for calls Monday to Thursday 9am to 4pm and Fridays 9am-2pm. Please keep trying if you do not get through first time as we are really busy but still here looking to help you.

Happy new year to you al!!!!  Sethcodoorstore are back in the full swing of things today 4th January after a break over the Christmas and new year period. We have been working remotely during the Christmas break to ensure most orders placed around the festive period have been processed with our suppliers ready for reopening today the 4th. Orders placed that are in stock are on a 5-7 day lead time. Pre order emails ae going out to customers today with there dates. Most of these are already displayed online at the point of order. We are working each day to ensure we catch up as quickly and as safe as possible given the circumstances Nationwide at the moment. 

The good news is that the ports are not as hectic as they were pre Christmas so things are a bit more settled now. We are still waiting on a few popular doors to arrive in which are coming through in the next week. 

We have a brand new range of doors being added to the website this week so keep your eyes peeled for some stunning additions. The new Rattan Garden Furniture range is coming this month too! We have some unbelievable pieces of furniture this year. A very exciting range. 

I would like to echo my gratitude for the support you our customers and our suppliers gave us in 2020. In what was our busiest ever year we have managed to get through the Coronavirus period IN 2020 because of the support and custom you brought to us. Thank you. We cannot wait to serve you in 2021. Thank you to everyone this year for your support and custom during a indifferent year for us all. This message goes out to your our customers who have been the best!! A massive thank you to you for your support and faith in us, and our suppliers LPD , XL Joinery, Baumhaus to name a few. Your support of a small family business is much appreciated. We have learnt so much and implemented new things to allow us to help you our customers. Here is what to expect from us over the Christmas period:-

The office will close for inbound calls on Monday 21st December at 4pm. Emails and lnstant messenger will be available after this time and will be responded to within 24 hours (Excluding Christmas Eve, Christmas Day & Boxing Day). The website will remain fully functioning to place orders throughout the Christmas period with us placing live orders with suppliers ready for reopening for dispatches on Monday 4th January. We will be working in the background each day so that we are fully prepared for you for 2021. The distribution centres are open between Christmas and New Year to take goods inbound so that stocks are replenished as well as can be after a very busy and testing time. Here is to 2021!! We are really excited to the new year ahead, we are adding brand new ranges in the background to give you more choice. We are always looking to improve the service too. We will be employing a new member of customer services staff who will start on January 5th.

BUSINESS UPDATE - NEW NATIONAL RESTRICTIONS


Following the Prime Minister's statement on 31 October 2020, we can confirm that we intend to remain fully operational across all areas of our business, whilst continuing to assess and monitor all the guidance and information available.

As we manage our business through these recent restrictions, our priority is to minimise the risk of transmitting the virus and to keep our employees and customers safe, whilst maintaining the service levels you have come to depend upon. Where our office staff can effectively work remotely they will do so and will remain available to assist you on their normal contact numbers.

Our delivery scheduling remains unchanged and we will update you further should this be necessary.

As always we will continue to work with you and support you as much as we can during this period and going forward.

AUGUST & SEPTEMBER 2020

In very strange times in life we have been working very hard behind the scenes to ensure business remains as normal as possible. We have been incredibly busy during the COVID period to date, we have even moved into a brand new office employing 2 new staff in the last 2 months which is fantastic news as we are able to now move the business forward and offer a much better service as we have new phone lines installed to take queries each day and have emails answered in a timely manner. As in most industries the stock levels on some items are very low or are being replenished after such high demand. We are working daily to make sure our lead times are up to date before you place an order. We are working through our listings every day.

We have recently added a new member of customer services to our team to assist with the calls and email correspondence due to the high volume of enquiries during lockdown. We have our phone lines manned between 09.30-1.30 Monday to Fridays whilst our emails are able to be manned throughout the entire day. We aim to respond to all emails within 1 working day. YOUR BUSINESS IS IMPORTANT TO US - DELIVERY SCHEDULING UPDATE


As you are aware following our last update, LPD took the decision to resume servicing customers who were still operating in a safe and controlled manner, and we commenced a phased restart of our delivery operations as of 27th of April 2020.

WE ARE NOW PLEASED TO CONFIRM THAT WE ARE ABLE TO COMMENCE A DELIVERY SERVICE FROM 4 MAY 2020.

Our sales staff and transport team working either remotely or from the office will be pleased to assist you with any queries you may have.

Our workforce who were invited to return are working within strict new safety regulations. These regulations include full compliance with current social distancing advice from PHE and follow the latest government guidelines. We have adapted our delivery processes to suit this new working environment.

contactless process means that when you do receive an on-site delivery our driver will annotate the delivery note with the name of your colleague who accepts the delivery, sign, date and time the delivery note, and leave a copy with your goods. The copy our driver retains will be the legal proof of delivery.

We have received a great deal of support and well-wishes over the last few weeks and have never been more grateful to have such incredible customers. We want you to know that we are doing our very best to manage our business operations; we realise that times are very tough for a great many of you and we are here to offer you as much support as we can.

UPDATE FROM OUR CORE SUPPLIER LPD

YOUR BUSINESS IS IMPORTANT TO US 
A large part of our industry is making huge sacrifices to try reduce the spread of Coronavirus and here at our core suppliers at LPD they have responded in solidarity with the government's lockdown restrictions.

As we manage our business through these challenging and rapidly changing times, we aim to balance many things. Our main priority is to keep our employees, and you our customers, safe and find a way to protect both our employees and your livelihoods.

Since we temporarily closed our operations in late March we have been in communication with many of you, through our remote working sales team, to monitor what is a fast-moving situation. As you may be aware industry wide efforts have now begun to try establish a safe phased return to work, in line with both our Government's and PHE's guidance, and supported by The Secretary of State for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy. We have a number of customers who continue to remain open in line with government advice, and e-tail customers who have demand as the public follow the government advice to shop online where possible.

In view of this LPD have taken the decision to resume servicing our customers who are still working and commence a phased restart including our warehouse, despatch and delivery operations as of 27th of April 2020.

We have invited a reduced workforce to initially come back into the business to run key roles working within strict new safety regulations. These regulations include full compliance with social distancing advice from PHE and the government, contactless delivery and collections, and revisions to our office practices. Please bear with us as we adapt our processes to this new working environment.

We have received a great deal of support and well-wishes since we closed on the 24th of March and have never been more grateful to have such incredible customers. We want you to know that we are doing our very best to manage our business operations; we realise that times are very tough for a great many of you and we are here to offer you as much support as we can.

LPD our main door suppliers have made the difficult decision to temporarily close and would like to reassure you that we are working hard to put procedures in place, that will allow the business to be back up and running smoothly during these unprecedented times.

Due to a confirmed case of the virus on site, we are arranging decontamination of our warehouse. Please allow us time whilst we work on improving our health and safety practises. We currently aim to open for business tomorrow ( Friday 27th March) and for all home deliveries from Monday next week. WC 30th March

Our Sales Team and support services will be fully  set up to work from home wherever possible. We will be able to answer incoming calls remotely and will do our utmost to provide the same high level of service.

The Website is open 24/7 and orders are still being taken and processed. We will arrange delivery once we are able to establish when the delivery network is functioning again.

A MESSAGE TO ALL OUR CUSTOMERS - FROM OUR DISTRIBUTION NETWORK

Following the Prime Minister's announcement on 23 March 2020 We have temporarily closed our door distribution site.

This is an unprecedented time and one that requires full support and collaboration by each and every one of us.

The Prime Minister has announced that all non-essential services will close to help stop the spread of COVID-19, yet we are aware that the Construction, Hardware and DIY sector has been categorised as essential by the government.  We are working out the safest and simplest way to enable us to continue moving forward over the coming weeks.

Whilst we do that, Our distributors have this morning made the decision that we will halt our deliveries once our current fleet of vehicles return to site.  We hope this will be a temporary measure and we will keep you updated of any changes to this decision. We are looking at the options to see if our Home Delivery service could still be viable during the close down over the next 24 hours. Home deliveries have been paused today and tomorrow. We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause to you. WE WILL KEEP YOU UPDATED 

You will be pleased to know that our Sales Team and support services are currently been set up to work from home wherever possible. We are working hard to implement a strategy for answering incoming calls remotely and we will update again as soon as it is arranged. Emails are set up on the move at this moment and are being answered as soon as possible,

** AN IMPORTANT UPDATE FROM OUR SUPPLY & DELVERY NETWORK REGARDING CORONAVIRUS **

COVID -19
CUSTOMER UPDATE

LPD FLEET AND HOME DELIVERIES WILL CONTINUE UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

(Please confirm by email if you are unable to accept deliveries)

Due to the developing Covid-19 situation and the governments on-going focus on delaying the spread of the virus we would like to keep all our customers informed of our efforts to maintain the safety and well-being of our staff, your staff and our business operations.

Business needs to go on as normally as possible, but in the current situation we believe precautions need to be taken to assist in protecting the health and wellbeing of our colleagues and their families.

We are constantly reviewing our position in line with the latest government guidance and have decided to implement changes to our basic operating procedures at our site at Midland Road, Leeds.

These changes come in two forms:

  • The management of internal staff and their flow internally in areas of our organisation.
  • The management of drivers/visitors who are external to LPD LTD, delivering or collecting.

Internally

We are managing our employees according to current NHS guidelines regarding proximity of working and the provision of hand-wash stations and multiple sanitising stations. We are practising social distancing wherever possible throughout our premises.

External Deliveries and Collections

After entering the site and parking by the security annexe all drivers are now requested to enter the Trade Counter area and abide by the instructions displayed there relating to social distancing.

All internal areas of LPD LTD, other than the Trade Counter are now off limits to any external visitor / driver.  All collection drivers will be asked to remain in their vehicle until ready to load, at which time you will be asked to practise social distancing – that is to remain at least 2 metres apart.

Similarly, all LPD Drivers who attend customers premises have been instructed to practise social distancing, this therefore means you will not be required to sign your delivery note and the driver will do so on your behalf and leave you a blank copy.

We will continue to monitor and update the situation daily and review our position as the situation evolves.

You may need to pass this information onto any visitors/drivers or relevant staff, we have had a very positive response from all visitors/drivers since implementing the above, none of the above systems prevent us from working normally and servicing our customers to the full, it is to limit contact with external sources and prevent any potential spread.
